A Benefit For Scribble Me Silly, a Toronto based childrens charity.

In June of 2010, burgeoning Toronto audio company, D.A.R.C. Productions (Troy Morrissey and Ryan Cox) decided to record and mix some local indie talent to raise some money for charity during their free time.

After listening to literally hundreds of artists from around Ontario, they chose a handful of bands and songwriters to work with.

Speaking with these bands helped to narrow down the search for an appropriate charity. Most artists conveyed a desire to help children. Scribble Me Silly is a new charity doing just that at a community level in Toronto by providing troubled children with an artistic outlet.

All of the bands/artists involved are donating the proceeds of their music to Scribble Me Silly. D.A.R.C. Productions donated their time, facility and expertise by recording and mixing all of the music free of charge.

This compilation represents the combined efforts of musicians and music lovers who are trying to help the next generation of local artists in the Toronto area. Please support Scribble Me Silly by donating whatever you can when downloading this album. Enjoy!

ABOUT SCRIBBLE ME SILLY:

We are establishing a fun and silly creative arts program for the children of a downtown Toronto woman's shelter.

The program entails bringing 25-30artists/volunteers and 20 children together for a day of live music, face-painting, cupcakes, cotton candy and arts and crafts. Our goal is to bring light, hope, laughter, and joy through the vehicle of art.

We will be distributing 20 art kits that day, and we are committed to providing opportunities for self-expression, and nurturing the creative talents in the most silliest of ways!

We believe that children should be children, regardless of their circumstances. This is what truly moves us. So far we have had two successful events at the YWCA in Scarborough. Over 20 children participated in our Day of Silly and left with new friends, new art skills and hopefully a new understanding of themselves.
